University of Texas at Tyler Athletics. A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the American Southwest Conference (ASC), the University of Texas at Tyler sponsors more than a dozen sports teams: men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field. Baseball is the sole all-male team while softball and volleyball are the two sports played only by women.

Although UT Tyler has one of the newest intercollegiate athletic programs, the school has already won conference divisional championships in baseball, women's basketball, men's soccer and tennis. Even more impressive is the fact that UT Tyler student-athletes are doing their work off the field as well. They currently maintain a higher grade point average than the entire student body.
